wiring the HSS86 Servo Controller to Masso

Hello,

Please can you help me with the connection of my MASSO to the Servo Motor Drivers. I have included the documentation that I have for the servo motor driver.
I have looked at the documentation provided on your website but am still not totally sure what to do, the last thing I want is to damage either the controller or the Masso itself.

Connecting the Motor and the Encoder as can be seen on page 8 of the attached document is easy, it the remaining connections that I am struggling with as I don t know how these relate to the Masso connection points.

On the Masso there is S+ S- D+ D- on the X Y & Z axis. How do these correspond to the signal control port shown on page 6 section 3.3 and again on page 8.

As there are only S+ and D+ and G on the A Axis, how do I achieve running this as a slave of Y . without having the S- and D- ?

If someone could put a table together for me showing what connects to what for one of the Axis, then that would be extremely helpful.

Before giving instructions on what to connect where, what version of MASSO do you have G2 or G3? This is important as the wiring of the A axis is different between models.

Arie.

Ian,

You can use the Teknic - Clearpath drawing as a reference.

For the X,Y,Z axis connect as follows,
  • S+ to PUL+
  • S- to PUL-
  • D+ to DIR+
  • D- to DIR-

For A & B axis
  • S+ to PUL+
  • G to PUL-
  • D+ to DIR+
  • G to DIR-

For all axis the ENA wires can be daisy chained to all drivers or you can use a star setup.
  • +ve via Emergency Stop to ENA+
  • -ve to ENA-

If you wish to use the driver fault alarm then connect
  • +ve to ALM+
  • a MASSO input to ALM-

If you any other questions regarding the setup of the MASSO ask in the Question & Answer section of the forum, this section is for you to introduce yourself to the forum, ie. experience, type of machine, location, etc.

Regards,

Arie.
