Hi gang,

I picked this VFD up online thinking it was like all the pther HY ones ive wprked with but it isnt. The manual has less in it than the IGA market day flier. I paid too much for the masso for it to go up in smoke so i ask you how to connect to it safely. Heres some pics, any help appreciated. There is only one GND terminal on this vfd. Which do i feed it? The signal GND from pins 4&6 or the Masso GND?

@radiola

You are right about the manual not matching the actual.
There is only one GND terminal on this vfd. Which do i feed it? The signal GND from pins 4&6 or the Masso GND?

Both, you need to connect 4 & 6 to complete the FWD & REV electrical paths (opto-isolator transistor) and you need to provide a return path for pin 1 speed signal. Quite often the separate "gnd" connections on VFD terminal strips are linked internally.

Regards,

Arie.

Thanks @breezy,

Yes I was a bit perplexed about that. The manuals that come with SEW, WEG and HITACHI VFDs are a tad more detailed than the takeaway menu supplied with this one but that's what you pay for.

Cheers
