Can we make a 6 axis cnc machine using masso? I have been using masso from a while and it's just perfect. So... Is there any way we can make a 5 axis + lathe cnc machine using masso like breton's shapemill
Masso is a 5 axis Controller + spindle. This is fixed in hardware and a 6th axis cannot be physically added and there is no C axis.
You will need to forgive my ignorance but i had a look at the video and counted only 5 axis and a spindle on the machine. I'm assuming the 6th axis is a dual Y axis configuration. If this is the case you can run 2 drives on the Y axis using hardware slaving. You loose the auto squaring feature but other than that it would run the same.
I did some more research and found that it's a 3 axis cnc with 2 axis head mounted on z and a lathe attachment + spindle. You can check more videos on the below link. This lathe attachment will be counted as second spindle or a 6th axis? Pardon for my little knowledge.
